Sweetheart, you did a good thing. And I really think they know you didn't hit the cat. Certainly that seems to be the case from what you told me when you were there. I suspect you may be guilting yourself out over something you did not do (you, who can feel guilty over a rainy day!). I think that right now all they can think about, all they can feel is pain and loss (I know that's all I could feel when we lost Riley), and later on they will be very, very grateful to you. When they have those precious ashes that will allow them to say goodbye however they choose, it will be because of what you did. And being the man you are, this will no doubt hurt for a while, having picked up a tiny body that loved and was loved, and having seen the grief the loss of him caused. But honey, you did the only thing a man of your heart could do and it was kind and he's at peace and because of you his family will find peace far sooner than they otherwise would.

Sorry that Sass got sick on Christmas Eve, and in general. =/ Any updates on how Sass is now?

It was sad for those folks to have to find out their kitty was dead, but I think you did the right thing. That you care enough to do what you did is one of the reasons I love you.
