[Alexis looks up, startled. She hadn't realized anyone was around; honestly, she had been somewhat distracted. She waves a hand as she recovers, though, and offers her visitor a smile.]

No, no. Nothing's wrong. I was just a little surprised by something, that's all.

[She gets up, dusting off the legs of her jeans, and holds out a hand toward the girl.] I'm Alexis.

I can understand. Time can go by very slow for me, either here or at home. I supposed that's to be expected, with what little rest I tend to get a hold of.
