no, that doesn't mean it's on manual, unfortunately. if you're worried about offloading that stuff, don't plug it in unless you're lightning fast with the "cancel" button... and your system's responsive enough to catch your click in time....
you can only offload the files if the other person has software that bypasses iTunes and lets you get files off there. i have this, but i don't know if i have the drive space. regardless you won't be able to preserve your playlists.
i downloaded software that claims to do it. i have an external drive... oh, but you have an apple. i'll have to think about that one. it might be worth my buying a drive. really.
once you pull them off, is there really no way to transfer them in bulk between your computer and mine?
i have found a way to save all the playlists from the ipod using on the go lists. i have to do them one at a time, but i could do that before coming to your place.
and if i can find a way to disable the first ipod sync to my laptop, it would avoid all of this...
i will never ever have any ipod of mine on auto sync again!
