Throughout the drive, he kept his hand resting on her thigh. When she pulled into the lot, he turned to face her. "You'll do fine," he said with an encouraging smile. "Though I'll have graduated by then."

Serving on the same battlestar with Laura would never be dull, he could see that right now. It was a shame that he wouldn't get the chance to be at the Academy with her - they could make a good team.
"I'm glad I did spill that punch on you. I've enjoyed spending time with you, Laura." Billy looked up, suddenly hopeful. "And you know, there's still a few months left until I graduate."
