Once the dishes were put up and there were no more excuses to keep him at her place, Laura led the way to her car. She was trying to think of something, anything to keep him at her place, but she couldn't think of anything. Billy wished the drive could have taken longer - he liked Laura's company, and he was reluctant to step through those gates, back to the 'real world'. So to speak.

Throughout the drive, he kept his hand resting on her thigh. When she pulled into the lot, he turned to face her. "You'll do fine," he said with an encouraging smile. "Though I'll have graduated by then."

"And you'll be on to an assignment," she sighed before shifting to look at him fully.

"I had...an amazing...really amazing time. I've never been so glad before in my life that someone spilled red frakking punch on me. And thanks. For the encouragement about enlisting. Who knows, maybe we'll have an assignment somewhere together."

"Yeah. I will." It was strange, thinking about that - in a few months, he'd be out in the stars he'd stared up into as a kid. "And who knows, maybe you will. I'd like that."

Serving on the same battlestar with Laura would never be dull, he could see that right now. It was a shame that he wouldn't get the chance to be at the Academy with her - they could make a good team.

"I'm glad I did spill that punch on you. I've enjoyed spending time with you, Laura." Billy looked up, suddenly hopeful. "And you know, there's still a few months left until I graduate."

With a coy grin, Laura leaned over in her seat, kissed him, and stuck her hand in his pocket to pull out his cell phone. Finding the address book, she entered her name and number, then handed it back.

"So call me, then. We could have some more fun," she grinned.
