Well, if you think about it, everything points to a resurrection. His pet is a phoenix, for goodness' sakes! If you'll remember, Fawkes (Dumbledore's pet), when Harry first meets him, is just shedding his old self and becomes born again. I fully expect that to happen with Dumbledore. After his "death," he's seen as sleeping in the portrait in the office. I think that's a clue that he's not totally out of the picture, if you'll forgive the weak pun. ;-)
The only disconcerting wrench in my hypothetical gears is Rowling has released a statement saying that she doesn't want to confuse children. Whoever is dead is staying dead. But I have two points to make in rebuttal to that: for one, this far into the series it's no longer for children, and another, Rowling's narrative doesn't expressly consider them dead--the other characters have made those statements. Which can be considered *their opinion.*
Although to be honest, after having seen the movie last night that gives an account of Sirius' fate, I think he might possibly be
