Before kicking off the Hundred Years' War, she was acting as an adviser to an old feudal baron.
He was narcoleptic, and tended to fall asleep from excitement whenever she had a new idea for how he could take over neighboring land. As such, nothing much really got done, and the Hundred Years' War stretched out for so long because she had a LOT of pent-up frustration to work out.
