Short synopsis: This is the one where Baal puts multiple Baals in play and scores.

I tried to do something different this time with the recap. It may help if you try to read it with Cliff Simon's voice in mind....

Why would you want someone else's point of view when you can have an insider's? )

recap, 1004 insiders, season 10

Boring recaps are boring, y'know? Had to try to shake it up. :)

Thanks.

Hee! Well played, lizardbeth, well played. :D

3. My own personal canon is that Ba'al's host was an ambitious man himself-a king or a chieftan of some kind, maybe-and chose to be a host for the power of godhood it would bring. (Remember that Ba'al's lotar at the Summit was the one who hoped for implantation himself, one day.) I think Ba'al enjoyed working with a host instead of against him, in pursuit of power, and I think the host shared with him various nuances of human behavior to help Ba'al learn how take advantage, whereas most goa'uld were too busy repressing and discounting the worth of their hosts to learn from them. My 2 cents, anyway.

Thanks! It was fun. :)

3. I also think that seems the most likely. That unlike most Goa'uld, Baal and his host were sympatico, so instead of the suppression, they kind of blended over time. I also like it as a theory since it explains why he'd clone the body as well -- if Baal was ONLY the symbiote then he should've just cloned multiple copies of that and the body wouldn't matter. He could have a zillion Baals in a zillion different bodies (and obviously they did that because of Cliff Simon, but it fits IMO). The only time it's only the Baal symbiote is with Adria.

I also suspect Baal didn't use the sarcophagus (at least as a drug). He's just not enough of a megalomaniac. I mean, he's egotistical, but he's a little too self-aware for a sarc user, don't you think?

Good point about the cloned bodies! And about the sarc. I agree it probably is an injury/longevity thing but not recreational.
