10 x 19 Dominion

Transcript is here

Previously on SG-1, we see the car crash, Athena talking about the code she and Qetesh got once, Daniel as a prior, and Adria through the gate…

And now:

We see Vala in her actual native environment, playing cards on some backwater planet. She bets a Sodan cloaking device and is caught cheating. All of the bar denizens gang up on her.

Then the fun begins. Adria shows up.

And we cut to opening sequence…

Adria tosses the gamblers out and makes her pitch. Vala tells Adria her friends are no longer her friends. Then she begins to tell her what happened:

Vala comes running into where Daniel is working, says she knows where the Clava Thessara Infinitas is and apparently Daniel believes her since the next scene has Daniel explaining it to General Landry and SG-1. Vala grabs the pointer from him and imposes the symbol for infinity over a set of gate glyphs and it points to only one gate address. Says it came to her in a dream. (and of course, she also dreamed of Dancing with the Stars! *winces*)

After discussion, they decide to go. Sam mentions the dreams Adria had sent her and Vala says this wasn’t one of them. This one was real. (We cut back to Adria and Vala in the bar, Adria telling Vala she didn’t sent the dream.)

SG-3 and SG-8 come from Vala’s gate address and they’ve been ambushed by the Ori. Vala is disbelieving. There were casualties too.

Vala has the dream again, this time it’s another gate address but SG-1 and Landry tell her no. They think it’s Adria, trying to manipulate them. (We cut to here telling Adria that things got even worse. )

Daniel tells her that the IOA thinks she’s a security risk and are going to place her in confinement in Area 51 for the rest of her life.

Adria is surprised that Vala is not lying. Vala tells how she stole the Sodan cloaking device and left the base through the Stargate without anyone seeing her.

Adria tells her to come to her ship and take up her place as Mother of the Orisi. Vala says she isn’t her mother. Then she tells Vala they’re going to check out the second gate address to find the Clava Thessara Infinitas. SG-1 will be traveling by ship and Adria says they’ll go by gate.

They gate out…

And are met by SG-1 and other armed personnel. Ba’al’s Jaffa gate in and take Adria away from them. Vala is totally clueless about it all. SG-1 is only clueless about the Ba’al part.

We cut to Ba’al’s ship and he tells Adria that he’s using the same anti-prior device the SGC has to dampen her powers. She tells him he can’t hold her off forever and he says he doesn’t need long for what he is planning.

And they hyperpace away.

Landry asks Mitchell how Ba’al pulled it off and they decide he had detailed intelligence. As for motive, they have no real idea yet but they know they have to get her back. She and Ba’al together are way too dangerous not to stop.

Landry asks if anyone has filled Vala in and Mitchell says it won’t be them.

It’s not. In the next scene, Daniel and Sam are filling her in. The whole thing was her idea of how to capture Adria. They tell her that they didn’t betray her and Sam shows her the implant device that put false memories in her mind. Vala had even made a video telling herself what happened.

Vala let the SGC send her out as bait for Adria and she allowed the memories to be planted in her mind. None of it happened right up to when SG-1 dropped her off on the planet where Adria found her. Except the Dancing with the Stars bit, that is. It was real.

We cut to caged Adria, who is very angry and threatens Ba’al. He pretty much laughs at her. Ba’al tells her that he wants control of her army and she says he can’t make her do it. But when he flashes his Goa’uld eyes, we know he has an evil plan. A very evil plan.

The Sgc has intel that the Ba’al clones are to meet at Ba’al’s direction on P3R-112 and when SG-1 finds them, they’re dead, all killed by symbiote poison.

In the meantime, Ba’al takes a symbiote out of the jar and the scene fades back to the planet of dead Ba’als. One Jaffa is not dead and once back at the SGC, he tells them where Ba’al is and they take the Odyssey and head out to find him.

On board the ship, Capt. Davidson asks how they’re going to do this and Sam says they can find Adria by tracking the EM field sent out by the Anti-prior device. Mitchell tells Vala she can sit it out but she assures him that she is okay with dealing with Adria even if it means killing her.

They pinpoint her location on the ship. They gate in and kill the Ba’al clone and take Adria, who, when she awakens, has Ba’al in her and is strapped into a seat with restraints. The anti-prior device is keeping her from breaking free.

Teal’c says they should kill them both.

Sam thinks they should have Ba’al removed from Adria. They plan to swap a Tok’ra for Ba’al. Ba’al tries to deal with them, promising lots of things they know he won’t deliver.

Three Tok’ra have arrived. They tell SG-1 that Adria may not survive the surgery. Vala walks out during the surgery and Daniel follows her. He asks her if she’s okay and Vala again protests that Adria is not her daughter and means nothing to her.

They surgery does not go well. Ba’al’s symbiote poisoned Adria and she is dying. The Tok’ra want to poison her and kill her immediately. Vala asks to be there. Adria wakes and stops them from killing her. She locks herself and Vala in the room. She says she can’t let Vala and her friends kill her.

Mitchell and Teal’c try to get in.

Adria tells her mother she is really dying but she intends to ascend, making herself more powerful than ever. Daniel figures this out and they hurry to try to stop her. Adria makes a coolant pipe rupture and spray Daniel to distract them. Adria chokes Vala when she tries to help Daniel by aiming a gun at Adria.

Adria ascends. All we see is Vala and the light, unlike ascending Daniel.

~~

Back at SG-1, they discuss what happened. Adria could have all the power of the Ori and Mitchell thinks Ba’al is still out there too.

Vala says they have rid themselves of the Goa’uld for now and dealt a blow to the Ori, which are both steps ahead.

End~

Questions:

1. Was Vala lying? Did she love Adria? Give examples.

2. Was the Ba’al symbiote the real Ba’al? Are you sure?

3. Did this show tie up all the loose ends properly? Or was it designed to foster fanfic sequels?

4. Should this episode have been the actual last one?
