Etsy. *shakes fist*

There is all this fantastic press for Etsy right now. Rachel Ray is apparently featuring an Etsy segment on her show today. The New York Times Magazine had a long ass column/article on the revolution that is crafting/Etsy/Craft Mafias/etc. It's the week before Christmas.

But I haven't sold a damn thing to an e-person (I have sold some to ( Read more... )

i almost bought the neckwarmer during the sale, but couldn't find anything else (and you have to get 2 things at a bogo sale!).

i totally think it is worth $35, but i don't have that, but i will give you $25, plus shipping?

Aw, thank you T! If you'd still like it, I'm totally ok with $25.

Let me know what you decide. xo

Be patient! There are things at your site I want for me, but I haven't been able to spend due to computer and Xmas shopping! :)

Well, thank you. And don't worry. The stock hasn't moved. :-)

Lemme know what you want whenever and we can negotiate a sweet deal.

xo!

ewwwwww Etsy is now tainted with being associated by Rachael Ray. That makes me want to puke. (I can't stand her.)

On the whole selling thing...please don't be discouraged. If you have a shop on etsy, its bascially impossible for people to find you unless they KNOW about you or you are featured. The site is SO HUGE people just get lost in there.

Your stuff is great, I would just focus on marketing. Or create a website and then when they click shop, they go to your etsy site. I think this can help too. (This is what I'm doing right now.) Selling is all about marketing. Stock up your site and start exchanging promos, etc with other people. It will pick up, it just takes time. And hell I go a week without a sale! You gotta just keep plugging along and believe in your shizzle.

Yeah, I'm thinking about creating a website and integrating a blog. That'll be my project for the new year, I think.

Thank you for your words of wisdom. I believe in my shizzle (and I believe in your shizzle, which is why I've purchased so much of it). :-)

You know, I don't know what's up either, but I haven't sold David Sedaris or Toni Morrison-- I thought for sure those would be snatched up crazyfast. Wtf?!

If my brother was not currently housed in a boat (cruise ship, that is) and if he could hang things on walls, and if I had a little more money than I do at the moment, I'd totally get the David Sedaris. He loves DS.

I think a lot of sales can be attributed to street teams and groups on Etsy that support each other, but I honestly don't want to get involved in something like that. The stress alone of dealing with a bunch of stay-at-home mom crafters is too much to even consider (this is based on Etsy bead and our local Etsy group). Ugh.

:( I'm sorry you haven't sold. I'm surprised too. Your stuff rocks. I'd be buying if I had any money.

Don't forget that some people on etsy have been around for a really long time. It takes a bit of time to get the word spread.

Now I want to watch Grease.

OMG, did you know Stockard went to Madeira School? It's like 20 minutes from here. I almost got a job there once as a Resident Supervisor or something. I could've been a Junior Stockard's dorm mom!
