Title: Darkness
Pairing: Junsu/Junho
‘Hyung, you know me best right?’ Junho suddenly asks, breaking the silence between them in the quiet section of the library.
Junsu looked up from his music theory book to see Junho still stuck on the same question he has been stuck on for the last fifteen minutes - ever since they arrived at the library, “Of course I know you best, you’re my younger brother.”
Junsu continued with his homework as Junho sat there, still in a daze, wondering if he should speak what was on his mind. Wouldn’t Junsu be offended if I did say it aloud? Junho thought to himself. He picked up his black pen and started to study like he should have been from the start.
‘Go on speak what’s on your mind. Mum will kill me if she finds out we went to the library and you haven’t even attempted anything.’ Junsu smiled at his younger brother, encouraging him to speak comfortably.
Junho sighed and slumped his shoulders forwards, leaning on the table, ‘But you know that I’m the original one right??’
His words stung Junsu. It wouldn’t have been natural if they didn’t. But Junsu merely shook off the words, understanding that Junho also had trouble expressing the fact that Junsu was adopted.
‘It doesn’t matter though, because I’d still know you best - even if we were blood related.’ Junsu replied.
Junho couldn’t look at Junsu. He was ashamed of his silly thoughts and Junsu’s affection made him rethink how he’d act if he were the one adopted.
‘I know you like dancing, studying English and I know you have a habit of coming off as a serious person when really it’s just because you are a cautious human being. I know that you have really bad back problems, but it has stopped ever since mum and dad bought that bed you love. I know you hate liars, people commenting on your small eyes and bring left along in darkness.’ Junsu listed.
Junho smiled understanding and fully grasping the fact that they really are brothers. Not because they share the same bathroom every day. Not because they share the same syllable in their first name. Not because they both have charming smiles.
But because they have a deeper connection that what blood-related brothers have.
“Brothers until the end…right?”
