I went to Germany and then I came back!

I went to Hamburg, Germany. Obviously, I survived. This is a bit later then I expected, but I haven't had much time to sit down and write all at once. Things came up, some of it I knew about, some of it unexpected. It's still a bit surreal on how all of this was only three weeks ago!

That was a fascinating read, thanks for sharing. :) It was very nice seeing you again, and yes, I hope it won't be another ten years until we do this again! Glad that you enjoyed it and that I was able to give you a (well-deserved) confidence boost, too.

Niederegger is a well-known high-quality brand. I'm sure you can get it in the USA; it's not cheap, but sometimes you gotta treat yourself.

And I do hope that you'll be able to visit Germany again, too, be it as a student or just for fun!

For example, she was extremely interested when I mentioned that I was visiting Schnee in Kiel. ("Does your husband know you're meeting a man? Don't worry, I won't tell him. Call me if you plan to stay overnight, I don't want to worry!")

...what, really? I'm not sure if I should flattered or insulted. :P

It is available in the USA, although the vast majority of stores only sell it around Christmas. Plus, a much smaller selection is available, at least compared to standing in the physical store!

I was thinking that when we walked past Paul Heyck (the coffee store) here - not sure if you noticed them, but they have those advertising signs out thave have a pair of blackamoors on them; very old, very much a curiosity and a throwback to centuries past nowadays, but I still thought that it was something that wouldn't fly in the USA. I did notice, but I guess at that point, I was quite used to the difference in ( ... )
