The one thing I hate more than getting cut from a team, rejected from a college, etc. is the speech they give you. It's always the same thing. They wish they could take you but there were so many qualified people and only a certain number of spots and blah blah blah. I wish they would just say "sorry you didn't get in." But that's just me

Ugh, I definitely know what you mean. I didn't need all the statistics about how the college broke the record of applicants this year. Just a simple "No, sorry." would have been fine.
