Harry Potter Party at B&N Astor Place

No, I'm not joking. Fuck the haters.

I propose we go have a drink on St. Marks at Grassroots or something, then we can go to Barnes and Noble at 11pm and get in line. Anybody care to join me?

Don't hate the Potter, but do hate the B&N. Maybe St Marks or one of the Shakespeares will have a midnight opening?

(Alas I'll be heading out of town for the weekend.)

Books of Wonder on 15th Street(?) is having one ...

As far as independent bookstores go, they rock.

Yeah but the problem there is that they have a sepcial guest -- the woman what draws the books! I think that's really cool, but my goal is to just get the book as soon as possible and be on my way.

Good point.

Me, I gave in and Amazon'd ... I'm going out on Friday night and decided I just wanted it to arrive on Saturday morning.

And if it takes awhile, I'm behind on my Book 1-5 review, so it gives me extra time to finish up 5 ...

I'll let you know; I may have a friend coming up from DC for Siren. I hope not. I have no real interest in going to Coney Island, frankly, and none of the bands excite me. But seeing my friend does. If she's coming up, I'm sort of tethered to my place until she gets here for obvious reasons...
