Prologue: A night of passion

The loud pulsing beat of the music throbbed against his head like an erratic heart beat. He made his way through the throng of writhing and gyrating near naked bodies on the dance floor, side stepping the groping touches on his body, to get to the other side of the room, where he can hear his own thoughts more clearly. He wouldn’t have mind returning a few of his own groping touches if it was any other nights, but not tonight.

He found a quiet corner to listen to the thoughts that had been plaguing him since he stepped into the place. It should be a great party but why was he feeling this? This sense of ennui. He feels out of place. Why? He’s too young to feel this way. He is Park Yoochun known as Micky to his closer friends, 20 years old, a second year university student, well-liked by both males and females, a well-known fixture at the most popular parties. People flocked to the parties where he would be. Yet he was bored with all this. He had always looked forward to these parties where he could have some fun and lose himself.

So why is he feeling this way tonight? Why does this comes onto him tonight of all nights? This was the first time that he feels that there should be more to life than this. What exactly is this? He was brooding and it was unlike him. His friends noticed his restlessness as they brought another drink for him.

“Micky, what’s up with you tonight?” Yunho asked, as he put his arm over Micky’s shoulders.

Jung Yunho, his best friend, also 20 years old and a second year student at the same university as him. He was also a popular student with his manly looks, great leadership qualities and awesome dance moves which captivated most of the girls in school. However he broke many hearts when he was known to be dating the ever-beautiful Kim Jaejoong.

Kim Jaejoong, whose beauty could rival many of the most beautiful girls on campus and whose gentle and charming personality and cooking skills seems to have capture the heart of one Jung Yunho. The two have them have been going out for more than a year ever since they were freshman at the university and their relationship seem to be going strong. For him, he had never thought of having a relationship like that, he prefers his freedom to do as he pleases.

“Yeah, you’ve been staring into that drink for a while. Why don’t you go out and dance?” Jaejoong asked, trying to be the good host of the party.

“I don’t know. Something just feels funny tonight. Don’t feel like doing any of the usual.” He said, shrugging his shoulders, hoping the feeling could be shrugged off as easily.

“Take a look around, there are a lot of people who are looking your way. Look at that girl in the tight red top. How about that one? Who’s going to be the lucky one that you chose tonight?” Yunho asked, turning Yoochun round to look at the people eyeing him.

“Guys, I really don’t feel like doing this tonight.” Yoochun said in a bored tone, not sparing a glance at the people Yunho pointed out to him.

“The night will look better with this.” Jaejoong said as he passed another drink to Yoochun who accepted it gladly.

“It’s ok. I’ll be fine, guys, go and have fun. I know my way around.” Yoochun said to his two friends. He can tell the two were dying to go off somewhere private to enjoy their time but they didn’t want to leave him alone since they were the one who insisted he came to the party in the first place.

“You sure?” Jaejoong asked, concern showing in his eyes, though he appreciate Yoochun for being so understanding of his need to spend precious time alone with his boyfriend.

“Yes. Maybe this thing will pass in a while.” Yoochun replied though he doubted it himself but he tried to put on a smile for the two.

“Changmin will be here in a while, so you can keep him company if you’re bored.” Yunho said, his hands on his boyfriend’s waist, steering him in the direction he wants to go to.

Shim Changmin, another of his good friend though people often found it strange the two would be friends in the first place, as they don’t seem to have much in common. Shim Changmin was known to be one of the more intelligent student in the school, skipping a few grades while Park Yoochun was never known to be the smartest one around. It was still a mystery to many how they have remained friends. It’s not to say that Shim Changmin was not part of the popular crowd, just that the two of them moves with different crowds yet the two have remain steadfast friends. The boy was not one for parties, preferring to spend his time more on books but he would turn up at this since it was thrown by Jaejoong, one of his favourite hyung.

“Ok. Stop nagging and go. I’m an adult, I know how to take care of myself.” Yoochun shooed the two lovebirds away, before settling himself comfortably against the chair, nestling the drink in his hand, waiting for enough time to pass before he can make an escape. He was still thinking about that when a voice interrupted his thoughts.

“So what are you doing hiding here?” Changmin asked as he found Yoochun sitting in the chair, staring hard into his drink, like it holds the answer to his questions, occasionally twirling the liquid around.

“I’m not hiding, just don’t feel like doing any of the usual.” Yoochun said as the boy took the seat opposite him, taking a drink from the waiter passing by.

“The usual, you mean flirting with anything that have an ass, bringing them back to screw them before dumping them?” Changmin said not even trying to be subtle.

“You don’t have to be so crude. I’m a man of discerning taste. They all know what they are getting into with me. I never promised them anything more. Do you hear any complaints from any of them? I made sure that both parties enjoyed it.” Yoochun said, not happy with the way Changmin had described him, like a callous person who don’t care about anything.

“I know they know what they are getting into but don’t you get sick of all the one night stands? Don’t you want something more?” Changmin asked.

“Don’t start preaching to me. That forever thing is not for me. It may works for some but it’s not for me. Can you see me being tied to one person?”

“You’re going to eat those words one of these days.” Changmin warned.

“I’m already regretting coming to this party if all you’re going to do is to preach to me about love.” Changmin shakes his head at Yoochun’s answer. He knows Yoochun had always been a free-spirited person but sometimes he wished that his friend could find the happiness he deserved. Suddenly he saw something or someone who he never thought to see at the party.

“What is he doing here?” Changmin said in surprise, moving to get off his seat to get to the person, forgetting about Yoochun all together.

“Who?” Yoochun asked though he was not that interested in knowing the answer. Before he had his answer, Changmin was already moving away to speak with the person. He turned his head to follow where Changmin had gone. He saw him talking to another guy; he couldn’t see the face from his place, and all he saw was a slight figure, with short spiky auburn hair, who’s about half a head shorter than Changmin. He didn’t looked like anyone he knows, so he turned back to the one he knows, the drink in his hand and proceed to get to know it better. He didn’t know how many drinks he had after that.

He didn’t know what happened after that, he must have found someone he liked as he brought him back to his house because the next time when he opened his eyes, it was to stare at the familiar lamp beside his bed, which signify his bedroom. A light fleeting touch on the lips brought him back to the figure on the bed with him. He smiled at the person though he couldn’t make out the features since the light was not on in the room. He stretched out his arms and pulled the figure to him again.

The kiss started slowly and developed into something more as he drunk from the sweetness, he couldn’t get enough of it. He didn’t paused for breath as his lips returned again and again to the other. Both were panting hard from the kisses. Hands roamed and all too soon, the cumbersome materials that were their clothes were removed and he could finally feel the smooth skin on his own heated one. The body fitted against him nicely. He couldn’t remember the name of the person but he was too caught up in the sensations to bother about them.

He did not question nor asked how he got back to his room; other things were more urgent on his mind now. The touches and kisses drove all thoughts away from his mind, the only coherent thought was to satisfy the demands of his body and that was to plunge itself into the warm body entwined with him at the moment. All thoughts dissolved as he succumbed to the passion driving him and he lost himself in the warm body underneath him.
