I am glad so many of my chums are well pleased with the passing of proposal 2 I was among the minority who voted against it. I say this only to note that stem cell research is a complex issue with many viewpoints, and questioning its parameters does not imply religious zealot narrow minded politic world view. Heck, I am an atheist for crying out loud. Just felt the need to be honest and open on a safe page like redmomoko's

I agree, the Obama family will now face an extremely altered reality, which undoubtedly will strain their well being. I appreciate the collective sacrifice they are making for the good on the citizenry.
We each must continue to work at being the change we want to see in America and the world (Ghandi paraphrased)
May the Obama's and each of us find strength, empathy, humility, grace and responsibility on the journey
I am also greatly relieved that proposal 2 passed. A lot of people are suffering from some very terrible diseases that could be 8 years further ahead in the research.
As someone suffering from a disease that could benefit from stem cell research- yay!!!! I don't want to live in such tremendous pain all the time. I want to live long.
