I wanted to go to the reason rally, but couldn't afford the trip. I didn't know you were going! I kind of wish now that I'd tried harder, but it would've been difficult, since I have to stay home with Dad pretty much all the time. Don't know how I'd get away for an entire weekend!

It was great fun, but no amount of trying harder would have changed the fact that your Dad needs you. Maybe the next comparable event will be closer to your area.
