Wow...big step :) Congrats, again. I'm jealous of your teaching-ness. While I've enjoyed my "free" year, I'm not looking forward to my researching stuff next year.

Thanks again! I'm really excited to teach, but I'm also a little nervous about how I'll manage my time. Fortunately it's only one class a semester. :) I'm having trouble remembering what your next year looks like...do you do a dissertation next year, or some other kind of research? Or do you mean you'll have to help with research to get your money? Either way, I don't know how you balance it all.

I almost came to you for advice on dating long-distance when it looked like Mike was going to Riverside. I'm really glad it worked out this way, but it's been really helpful to know that you guys were able to make it work...just in case we still have to go separate ways for a summer or a job or something.

I'll be assisting a professor with research for my fellowship. Fortunately, I don't have (another) thesis. I really wouldn't be able to handle that and keep up w/ real life.

Mmhm. That'd be pretty ridiculous. It is kind of too bad; I think you'd be really good at teaching. :) Hopefully the research is okay, though.

Thanks, Morgan! Yeah, I really felt comfortable with them because of how much personal contact they kept up and how invested they were. I was lucky enough to get into a couple of other places, but they barely talked to me and hardly acted like they wanted me to come. So, it was a natural decision. And I'm looking forward to the challenges, too...at least from three months' distance! Hope you're doing well. :)

Wow! That's exciting news! I can't imagine what a relief it must be to finally have some sort "plan"... :)

Congratulations!

Yesss, it is. Phew. I was lucky in that the decision turned out to be a pretty easy one...How are your plans coming? Mike's friend (Ryan 2) was asking the other day and I realized I hadn't checked in for a while. I hope things are going well. (And I wish there was a scale like Thom's friend scale to help with plan-making...)
