Grape Cake

I am *new* to baking and learning cake decorating. The other night I picked up some candy flavorings and tonight I decided to try a plain ole boxed white cake mix wtih 1/2t of grape flavoring. It smelled really good baking and for the moment, it's cooling. I wont decorate it until tomorrow afternoon; I think I will use buttercream.

Anyone ever used

I use them all the time. In fact, I'm working on some mint chocolate cupcakes for tomorrow. Milk chocolate cake with mint swiss meringue buttercream.

I use flavoring the the cake to enhance any fillers I might be planning as well.

Yeppers, I have used mint as well; Love it! I have also used almond extract, vanilla, grape, orange, strawberry, et...most of them I guess! I'll use flavoring if someone asks for them! But, for myself I love to use a boxed cherry cake mix and add almond extract....so, so good!

I was going to message you back, but I can't! I have "exceeded my messages." I'm really gonna have to figure this LJ thing out!!! ;o) I know Boofy (Kim) we used to be close when I lived in Wacko! She actually walked me through the LJ signup over the phone 4 years ago! Life happens and I guess distance and time have taken over now! I miss her alot, though.
