i am unable to write in cyrillic on livejournal, though it is possible on yandex and myspace. i don't know why. for this reason i have to write the word i have a question about in latin....fishka....my belarussian friend said it and wasn't able to give me an example. does anyone know the meaning of this slang word? apart from playing card? she ( Read more... )

I'm sure he meant some distinctive feature of an individual. Actually 'fishka' is a slang word that comes directly from the English's 'feature'. At first this word was used in computers and programming and was pronounced like 'ficha' in Russian. Later some people started to use it for subjects as well, and changed the pronounciation just for fun I suppose.

Example: у него фишка - в кино ходить пьяным
