Re: Clark Luthor and SV 10.17 "Kent"

I went back and re-watched the "Luthor" ep the other night. Now, with Rosenbaum's return as Lex looming, here are my thoughts (as if anyone cares at this point, but I still enjoy writing about it. . . so there! *blows raspberry*).

Upon second viewing of Smallville 10.10 "Luthor":

Uh, so Alt-Clark is older than our Clark? How else would Ollie know him from boarding school? (Or maybe I'm confused on boarding school, and too fucking lazy to look it up.) But, would that by chance also mean that Alt-Lex and and Alt-Clark attended the same boarding school? (Aaaaaand, there goes my brain scheming Luthorcest boarding school sexcapades, with Bruce and Oliver (and, hey, why not good ol' Jason, too) looking on as Alt-Clark and Alt-Lex dysfunction-ally battle it out. . . in bed).

We're also left to infer exactly what the Alt-Luthor household was like. I don't know how it's possible, but by the sound of things seems like Lionel was even more of a sadistic fuck Over There than he was back here in our SV 'verse. Alt-Lex and Alt-Clark seem to have been pitted against each other -- cos Lionel's retarded -- with Alt-Clark surprisingly coming out on top (probably due to some combination of having Tess "on his side," having fucking superpowers, being favored by dear ol' Papa Luthor over Lex. . . like always).

No mention is made of either Julian or Lucas of course, but that's pretty much standard. God damn, but Lionel sure got around! Should've wrapped it up there, MB!

Is Rosenbaum's Lex going to be our Lex? Like, reborn? I actually hope not. I hope he's a clone or another Alt-Lex, or something. Call me crazy, but that's how I feel.

Welling needs to wear three-piece suits all the time. Well, okay, maybe not all the time, but most of the time. Also, I now equate three-piece suits with Arthur & Co. from Inception, so Clark Luthor in such a suit immediately causes my brain to start coming up with possible crossover storylines between the two fandoms. (Aaaaaand, we're back to plotting sexy times.)

I do love me some evil Clark/Kal. Welling needs to play a villain, seriously. TPTB usually throw him a smirking and/or villainous version of Clark every other season (Red K, Kal, Bizarro, now Clark Luthor), and he always knocks it out of the park.

(On a separate note: Hey, has anyone else around here read Robin Hobb's Farseer and/or Tawny Man trilogies? If so, would it surprise you to learn who I mentally "cast" as Regal? Heh heh. (Answer: Welling, yo.) And, yes, I have my own stories centering around slashing Regal and Fitz, oh, and Fitz and the Fool, and Burrich and Chivalry, and Starling and Kettricken, and. . . no one else even cares at this point. *sigh* Oh, well.)

I still gasped when our Clark realized Alt-Clark had killed Alt-Lex. How incredibly sad. Well-delivered, that line. Good job, Tom.

I don't ship Clark/Tess obviously, but I love Clark and Tess scenes. Freeman and Welling have great chemistry. (Although, let's face it, Tom has awesome chemistry with pretty much everyone. . . except Kristin. :/ ) Also, was that a riding crop in Alt-Tess' hand up there in the loft scene?! No, I swear! Look again. *raises eyebrow* So that's how it is in their family. Alt-Clark likes it rough? Heh heh heh, etc.

John Glover is my hero. Lionel can never be topped (heh) as the Magnificent fucking Bastard, not by Lex, not by Tess, not by Ollie. (Hee, see what I did there?) Lionel is the KING, and that ending where he breaks the fourth wall? *kisses fingertips* Le magnifique!

Throughout the "Luthor" episode, and I imagine this will be the case again tonight, I often found myself asking, "Lin, what the fuck, man?!" XD Whoops! (Yes, self-pimping is a beautiful thing.)

So, now I want to write SV's Alt-Clark (Clark Luthor) somehow switching places with my Colin. Or, SV's Clark switching with Colin. Wouldn't that be insanely trippy? :)

Okay, I had fun writing this junk. Did you, self? Why, yes, I did! Isn't it nice to have a journal? Yes, yes, indeed it is.

*headdesk*

ETA: Blame supercaptain182 for me now outlining a good!Clark/bad!Clark fic, wherein both versions stick around canon SV 'verse and there is lots of drama and angst, with a dash of redemption for flavor. Oy!

season ten, behind the scenes, colin luthor!verse, feel free to ignore, smallville
