It's funny how age works. I noticed the other day on a magazine(Good Housekeeping, I think), and one of its headlines was 'Is your Age showing?' And proceeded to list snake oil styled amendments

i haven't got a problem with age. if i could be generally healthy and 75, forever, i would gladly become it today. i fear age because it leads to an end of living. the rest of america fears it because it leads to an end of living but, more importantly, power.
But everything ends, and on an immortal scale, the Sun will eventually swallow the planet. My life is but a speck of mold on a log that floats down the river of the milky way.
I'm not important, what I do is of no consequence. The relationships and people I forge and meet are the only thing that gives me a sense of perpetual motion to my daily living; if there isn't anything interesting, why try?
Some don't, but I'm not one of them. I feel compelled at times to observe and move and flow with the day to day.
Age for me is just an acquisition of knowledge and experience; my body won't last forever, and I cannot foresee what will happen to me. All I can do is roll with the punches, and choose the course of life that has the least tradeoffs for the most tradeups.
I think I'm tangenting, but Power is irrelevant, if when you die it goes to someone else. I guess my power is that I know my time will end.
And frankly, if power means that my will comes before and/or troubles the wants and desires of others, I want none of it.
The power that appeals to me is the ability to make people happier/more content/less stressed/help them. My power is my ability and willing to help others. It sucks at times, and I usually don't get the payoff in literal or traded gtods.
It just reinforces relationships with other people, which I think is what makes me the happiest.
