would anyone be interested in a 2 week-ish excursion mid to late august, either a long backpacking trip or bike ride somewhere in this great country of ours? i am thinking maybe out west or up north. Anybody?

I don't think that I could keep up with you for two full weeks. Wish I could, though.

HOWEVER, if you come out West you are of course required to come see me. Unless by "out West" you didn't mean *this* far West. ;-)

Wow. Definitely did not realize that the standings were looking so bad for us so far this season. Now I remember why I stopped checking them...

Then again, the A's are *always* behind this early in the season. It's just the way things go. I'm still hopeful. :-)

I guess that's right. But the last few years we've had the big 3 to fall back on when we weren't generating the offense. When we're getting beat by the Devil Rays without having some major problems with injuries, there's an issue.

I'm liking what I'm seeing from Street and Yabu though. Can't wait til they develop.
