I maintain that I have a very small family. (True ozdachs will point out those second cousins that jumped out at him after I convinced him of my small family...but how often do we see them anyway?) Frustrating, isn't it, especially when you try to keep in touch and it's all one sided. Our family has never been close with the one-off relatives either. I have 32 first cousins on my mom's side, and I only occasionally hear from one of them. I suspect that when my mother passes away, I'll lose touch with both my brothers from ennui.

Actually, in this instance, I'm amused. I'm constantly surprised at how much of a family behavioral resemblance there is between my Uncle and myself. I suspect I could come up with a not-to-short list of the important milestones in my life that I just haven't gotten around to mentioning to my family. (Actually, ozdachs does a much better job checking in with my family then I do.)

As for brothers...I only have one and he visits often. If you'd like me to lend him to you occasionally, let me know.
