shopping in mexico is fun. my biggest dismay was the ferreteria though....they had no ferrets to play with.

What a lovely conversation, do you ever wonder what it's like for that clerk on the other end? I mean, it's obvious you speak spanish very well and can carry on a converstation in spanish nearly as well as you can is english, but there are still words that just aren't there! Language is amazing sometimes, so large and vast, filled with little nuggets even the PhD's don't know...

In fact I often think that people must think I'm some kind of extra-terrestrial...my Spanish is eerily good, but there's something odd about it that they can't place, and from time to time I'm culturally off-kilter...only explanation: I must be from another planet.
