2011

Jan 13, 2012 18:01

I want to keep a record of my life because I have such a terrible memory. There hasn't been a post in my LJ since May 2011. The least I could do is make a year-end post, even if it is already 2 weeks into 2012. The best way for me to sum up my year is to use photos. Luckily, I somehow managed to take photos every month of the year.
12 Photos from 12 Months )

Some friends of mine are sort of boycotting this year's ACEN. I kind of wonder if this year will be my last, but if i keep making money like this there, I'm going to have to keep on going. :3

This is an unlocked post, but I can message you about it. It has pretty much been confirmed that not much more is going to be done. It doesn't involve me, but I completely understand why it is being done.

Obviously, you're still using LiveJournal! Besides, this is where I can post something more permanent. I heard FB notes disappear after a while.

Naw, I'm not boycotting it. Some other friends of mine are, though. When it comes to cons, I prefer to go where the money is. Though, this past ACEN we both did well. If I do well this year, I'll most likely go again.

But you wouldn't want to go to Acen even if all your friends would be there? (And that it's usually a crazy awesome time.) That's the reason I've been going every year.

I think I would most likely go to ACEN. Though, now flying out there is an expense. I think if I were really short on cash or if there was a family emergency, or once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, I wouldn't be completely upset about missing ACEN. (As opposed to five years ago, where I probably would have thought it was the end of the world.)

As I've gotten older and still attend about 3-4 anime cons a year, once I'm out of the artist alley, I stay away from the con almost completely and explore whatever area I am in. I've talked to a few others about this, but I would love it if there was some other big event friends would gather at every year. I'd switch to that in a heart beat, but I'm not sure if it would ever change away from ACEN, since most of us are based out of the Midwest.
