Thanks for posting! So glad mom's mask is now clean and better. Good luck with yours . I'm having bathroom plumbing issues myself, bathtub has always been slow draining but now sink won't drain at all. Months ago I got it to slow drain but it's not working now at all. Have to call plumber, not looking forward to it. And toilet handle has to be jiggled to make it stop running. Not sure what to do there. Want whole new toilet but don't want to get into that. Sigh.

How old is your house? When we remodeled our upstairs, we had to replace all of the plumbing because the drain pipes were so full of lime, the opening in the pipes was smaller than a pencil. No mater how much drain cleaner we dumped down those drains, it didn't help, because the pipes were full of stone. So don't be surprised if that is in your future.

The toilet handle jiggling thing is by comparison, a very easy fix. I am now (for a short time at least) an expert on the physics of toilets and their basic repair. At least for the tanks. May I recommend a website: AcmeHowTo.com Has a lot of nice home repair guides.

Yeah, that's what I figured it is doing (or not doing). Thank you for the nice succinct description and helpful website!  On the other hand,  you have now terrified me with the prospect of replacing pipes. My house is from 1951. How long does it take to replace all the pipes, and  (egads) how much does that cost??? Does a contractor have to do it? It sounds like more than what a plumber would do.
