A combination of not having money to go (tix are like 50 bucks a piece), forgetting to request time off work, and being a weekday eric can't go. This seems to be a recurring theme for my summer. Three of my favorite bands (green day, rancid, and bad religion) come thru within a month and I can't go. Bad religion was only 20something bucks but it was on warped tour and there's no way in hell I'm suffering thru THAT mess to see anyone. One more month and I wouldve had the money. Proof indeed that timing is everything.
Concerts are so insanely expensive nowadays! :( Looking back at my Green Day ticket stub from 1994, it was $12.50 (plus $3.25 in Ticketbastard charges) to see them then! Insane! How did things get so pricey in 15 years' time? :P
It really sucks that the cost (and scheduling, and other annoyances of life) have prohibited you from seeing three of your favorite bands, though. :( That would depress me to no end. :(
I was reading a book on Sunday and the word "dipsomaniac" was used in a sentence, and I was racking my brain trying to figure out where I had seen that word before. :) Now I remember! Haha!
it IS ridiculous. it makes me feel like they're shutting out the people who got you where you are because they can no longer afford to go to your shows and the only ones who can are the ones who have no idea that you have 6 other albums BEFORE american idiot (or the latest release from whatever band in question) and "don't like punk." wtfever. maybe that's not the intent, and maybe i shouldn't take it personally, but damn.
