Well said and so true. As a person who was supposed to say "my pleasure" and felt it was awful, I can say that my only objection at the time was how sexual it felt to say. Honestly, the word "pleasure" is pretty much only used with sex--or chocolate--anything the marketer wants to sexualize. It didn't help that of all the people working the front line in the pm, I was the only brunette; all the others were Barbie blond slender females (they were delightful and became good friends, I loved working there). This was not a platonic mistake. I can't remember how much I didn't say "my pleasure," but I think I had some leverage and got away with not. And the girl who said it all the time and liked it annoyed the rest of us to no end.
