Unsurprisingly, I didn't get much reading done while entertaining my mother. I did, however, read volume 2 of Marvel's Champions between when she left on Monday and today. My mom is gone off to spend a week with my sister and I'm back on the internet. It was really good to see her again. We had a lot of fun visiting some local museums, eating at local restaurants, and just tooling around. I think I managed to ruin museums for her forever, but, if I have to suffer, then so does she. My mom and I are having a grand time during her visit. Every time she comes, I end up spending so much money. Last time she was here, she helped me find a dining room set. Yesterday, I bought a sofa and loveseat for my living room. I'll take pictures when it comes, assuming I can figure out how to get them off my tablet and on to the internets.

My mom has been up visiting from Florida since Friday. On Saturday, we went to the Finger Lakes Cheese Festival. So many good cheeses, plus a bunch of mediocre ones. Admission includes samples at all the booths, so I'm pretty sure we've raised our cholesterol by quite a bit.

Afterwards, we returned home to marathon Stranger Things 3. ( spoilers )

It's once again Remix season, so it's appropriate that today's flashback is from my very first ever remix exchange back in 2014. I enjoyed it so much, I've been doing them ever since. I got my assignment for this year's remix earlier this week and there's some great stuff to work with.

Finishing The Stone Sky, the last book in the Broken Earth Trilogy by N.K. Jemisin's makes it really easy to see why every part of this series won a Hugo, a Nebula, or both. This weekend, was our town's annual street painting festival. It's spread out over two days and three nights. During the daylight, artists paint cool stuff in the middle of the street while bands local and dance troops perform at the various band stands. In the evening, they have concerts by touring bands.
