[Jennifer has also felt the effects of Halloween in Luceti. Despite the cutesy-spooky look it had taken, it still put the girl at unease and made her rather reluctant to leave her room. She didn't want to walk among such a place unless she had to ( Read more... )

[A story then? Well here we go. Also, with this icon, does his costume need explaining?]Once upon a time, there was an incredibly handsome and popular man. They called him Samurai Goroh. An intergalactic space bandit shrouded in mystery, not even the cops were good enough at their job to know what he looked like. This jackass wannabe thief gets the bright idea to impersonate him, calling himself Samurai Goroh. It all seemed like a good idea, up until he decided to steal medical supplies from sick little children. A right bastard, that one. So this newbie from the police with his bleeding heart, puts himself on the case against orders. He goes looking for Samurai Goroh ( ... )

That's as true as they come, doll.

[Go on. Ask him what happened to the medical supplies for the poor sick children.]

[To be fair, this guy has covered up the "camera" of his journal as best he can. No, no one's seeing this dress]

Are not most sad stories triumphs when looked at differently?

[If it makes him feel any better, Jennifer would probably just roll with it, considering she spent a good amount of her childhood cross-dressing as a boy.]

Um...triumphs?

In many places in life, where one person falls, another benefits from that person's fall. Similarly, in a story, if there is doom for one, there is glory for another. A "victor" if you will.

....But sometimes, no one wins.

[The Elder Goat Sister was dead, leaving the Younger one with a letter to no one.

The Mermaid Princess was dead, alone and unloved.

The Bird of Happiness was dead, shattering the dreams of a girl who wanted to fly away.]

I've read so many terrible stories...I can't think of a single way anyone could benefit from them.

[Jennifer is visibly delighted! Sort of. As in, she makes a face that doesn't make her look like her dog just died.]

Oh...really?

[ Yay~ ]

Definitely. What kind do you like best apart from that? [ Action, adventure, ghost stories, all that good stuff. He doesn't get to tell a lot of stories lately. ]

Oh...I'm sure anything is fine. [As long as you're not a troll like Goroh. :|]

Um...what's your favorite type of story, sir?

It doesn't have to be that scary.

Yeah. Some people like the thrill of being scared when they know it isn't actually real.

...It's hard for me to understand something like that.

...I've spent too long being afraid.

[He probably feels just about as desolate as she does, too. His friends need to stop leaving. :(]

Thank you. I'm sure some people here must know some happy stories, like fairy tales or something. Most worlds have fairy tales, right?

[Urgh. Fairy tales. Jennifer starts to look...oddly nervous at the mention of them.]

Y-yes....I think so.
