The Hotel Porta Felice is a gorgeous little place a stone's throw from the beach in Palermo.
Jared can't wait to get into their room and stretch out, because so far? He feels like fucking Godzilla in the tiny cars, the tiny streets and among the tiny people. He knows he's big, but this is ridiculous. Even Jensen's feeling a little claustrophobic, though Jared knows that probably has more to do with sharing the back seat of a Fiat with him than anything else.

The inside of the building-unlike most of the exteriors in the ancient city-is all sleek lines, cool furniture and funky light cut-outs in the walls, shaped like chandeliers of all things. Jared approves. Jensen just smiles brightly at the practically microscopic girl behind the counter as she check them in, knowing full well that turning on the charm, despite the fact that he's holding Jared's hand behind the counter, will score them all sorts of good tips, and maybe even some freebies. Jared's all about the freebies. Especially if said freebies are even remotely related to food. Or candy. Or both, really.

Carolina, as her name tag boldly proclaims, is practically swooning by the time she hands Jensen the two card keys, chest heaving with lust; had she a dick, it would've been drilling through the counter. Jensen gives her a wink and then grabs their bags, making sure to keep a discreet distance from Jared so that prying eyes won't look too hard. He hasn't so much as told his family he's dating, let alone dating another guy. Paparazzi pics are not the way to go on that one, and he'll avoid it at all costs if he can.

As soon as the door closes behind them however, it's a different story. Jared's clearly making up for sick time with soft, lazy kisses, and wandering hands that are making Jensen heat up in the most delightful way. He kisses back with equal fervor, his own hands slipping to undo Jared's belt buckle with a muted, little 'clack' of metal on metal.

They're halfway to the massive bed and half-naked, when Jared cracks an eye open and notices the rose petals strewn all over the room. Smiling against Jensen's mouth, he pulls away just enough to speak.

“You order all the flowers?”

Jensen blushes just a bit, nods sheepishly and then slides a hand down the center of Jared's chest slow and affectionate. There's a warmth in his eyes when he looks up at his boyfriend that is unmistakable love and gratitude.

“Figured my nurse needed something pretty for all his hard work.” He whispers, knowing Jared was either going to laugh, or spank him; Jensen is fine with either.

“Yeah, but he's got all the pretty he needs right here.” Jared answers just as softly, tugging Jensen flush against him and giving him a kiss that makes Jensen's head go all sorts of fuzzy.

“Mmhmm.” He mumbles incoherently, the daze lasting long enough for Jared to finish what he started and have Jensen standing in the middle of their room naked as the day he was born.

“Hey! No fair! That's cheating!” Jensen suddenly comes to his senses and Jared takes off, making a leap for the bed and then crossing it with one big stride. He's still laughing as Jensen chases him around the room once, follows him into the bathroom, and finally cuts him off when they're rounding the corner back to the bed.

Both breathless from the sudden exertion, it doesn't take much coaxing to get Jared's pants and boxer brief to pool on the floor; It takes a little longer to get the big oaf to stop giggling like he's just won a scratch ticket, but Jensen manages with a deep kiss and two well-placed hands on Jared's ass, pulling him gently forward until their skin-to-skin everywhere but the knees down.

The blackout curtains are open, but the standard sheer ones are closed, affording them enough privacy to stand in the middle of the room, kissing languidly and letting the rest of the world drop away around them. Jared's hands slip all over Jensen's, paying extra attention to little spots only they know about; Fingertips brush the very last vertebrae of a strong spine, while a soft, pliant mouth moves across a stubbly jaw and down to the pulse point of Jensen's neck, Jared marking him so faintly that no one standing more than two inches away will notice.

Neither realize they're shuffling to the bed until Jared's thighs hit the mattress and, with a light-hearted laugh, they both fall onto the bed, only stopping their kisses long enough to stick the landing; Broken teeth are so not sexy when you're trying to get laid.

Jensen rolls them so that Jared's on top, his forearms coming out to knock his boyfriend out of the push up position he automatically puts himself in. Jared laughs softly as he comes to rest fully on top of Jensen, his lips finding the underside of his jaw in a tender kiss.

"Forgot how much you like being squished." He murmurs with a grin.

"Missed this." Jensen agrees, his hands coming up to smooth Jared's hair back in the most affectionate of gestures.

Jared purrs and Jensen's shoulders come up in something of a silent snort, finding it absolutely adorable that he can make a guy twice his size actually sound like a kitten. The third time Jensen's hands plow through his hair, Jared rests his head on his shoulder, sighing contentedly.

"Glad it wasn't anything worse." He whispers, vulnerability and relief clear in hsi voice. "Not sure how well I would've handled it."

"We would've been okay. You would've been there, so I would've been okay, and you're okay when I'm okay, so...we would've been okay." Jensen reasons, short fingernails lightly scratching the nape of Jared's neck, his lips pressing to the top of the smooth head of hair his boyfriend's so well-known for.

Jared nods, closing his eyes and taking another deep breath, his own fingertips curling into a loose fist over Jensen's heart. Jensen knows better than to speak, knows that when Jared gets quiet, it's because he needs the strength of touch, the reassurance of a heartbeat that's slower than this own, and the silent peace of companionship from the person he loves.

It's several long minutes before Jared's voice breaks through the silence and Jensen's heart is near bursting at the words he hears.

"Never in my life. Never in my life have I ever loved someone as much as I love you. I mean, I don't even like thinking about how..." He pauses, takes a breath, the sound shuddered and making Jensen hold him tighter out of sheer reflex.

"I don't even like thinking about how it would be without you." Jared finally whispers, turning his face to burrow into the soft skin of Jensen's chest.

They both get like this on occasion; Desperate and scared and needing the reassurance of the other. Taking a deep breath, Jensen makes sure that every last inch of him is curled in some way around his boyfriend and on an exhale, he squeezes, making sure Jared can feel that he's still there, that it was just a scare of Pneumonia and that Jensen's not going anywhere.

He can feel Jared's smile before hearing it in his voice and its enough to have him smiling as well when Jared lifts his head to look up at him.

"Such a girl sometimes, I swear." He chuckles, a little embarrassed, Jared's eyes closing in absolute indulgence as Jensen kisses him lovingly.

The piazza's bustling the next morning, the sights, sounds, smells and general hubbub giving Jensen the perfect distraction to leave Jared for a few moments and dash into an old shop that smell like heaven in a 8x8 box. The sign above the door reads Fioraio and he takes a moment to look around at the vibrant colors before something catches his eye in the corner of the small shop. A hand-tied bouquet of orchids, blood red in color sit in a vase a fair distance from any other plants.

Jensen smiles brightly and in broken, English-filled Italian, manages to ask the old woman behind the counter to prepare them for purchase. She smiles brightly at him, obviously approving of his choice as she packages them up with care.

"You very good husband. Wife very happy woman." The woman tells him as she hands him the flowers, having no idea that Jensen's 'wife' is actually a six-foot-four brute of a man who makes his heart skip a beat every time he walks into a room.

By the time Jensen comes out of the shop, Jared is standing in the middle of the square looking more than a little worried as he spins round and round, trying to spot his boyfriend.

"Hey! Where'd you--" He stops, Jared smiling and blushing just a little as he sees the Orchids.

"These for me?" He asks softly, stepping closer to Jensen in the chaotic square.

"They are." Jensen nods, holding them out for Jared to take. He does without hesitation, Jared sweeping one hand through Jensen's hair before pulling him close for a tender kiss.

"Thank you for taking such good care of me." Jensen whispers against Jared's lips, smiling fondly at his boyfriend.

"Thank you for letting me." Jared answers, pulling him close and hiding his face in the crook of Jensen's neck, his lips pressing softly against the skin there.

"I love you." They both whisper at the same time, their smiles growing as they both realize just how good their love is.
