Oregon has plenty of swimming holes, but none quite like the one Jensen finds completely by accident.
They're on a stretch of back road and he's been holding it for hours. He's going to burst if he doesn't pull over, and so without even bothering to tell Jared, he veers the car off the roads onto a little two-tire path that has seen better days.
He's glad for the weight of the convertible as it bumps along, playing merry havoc with his bladder, but staying on the road and not flipping. Despite this, Jared still hangs onto the top of the windshield as though he might get catapulted out of the car at any second.
At the bottom of the little sloping hill, Jensen comes to a slow stop, eyes wide with excitement and awe.
“Dude!” He exclaims as he hops over the door, forgoing the simple act of opening both in his rush to pee and the surprise of finding a swimming hole that not only has beautiful, clear water, but is absolutely desolate.
Jared's own eyes go big as he steps out of the car, a little slower but no less excited.
“Did you plan this?” He chuckles, stripping off his shirt which has been stuck to him ever since they drove through a muggy patch some 30 miles back.
“Yeah, because I'm just that good.” Jensen smirks as he finds a tree and gives in to one of nature's most basic functions.
“Our board shorts are still clean, right?” Jared asks, one eyebrow going up as he waits for Jensen to finish, having gone at the last rest stop like a smart person.
“Yeah, why?”
“No use in getting them all wet when we haven't reached our final spot yet...” Jared grins, stripping out of his cargo shorts before taking off in a sprint towards the dock that despite its age, looks like it could withstand a hurricane.
With a Tarzan-like yell, he cannonballs in, a splash of white and blue marking his wake. Jensen's already half out of his clothes by the time Jared's feet hit the dock, and he laughs boisterously at his boyfriend's antics before following suite.
The water's the perfect temperature for two men that have been pretty much roasting in the sun since it came out of its nightly resting place. Jensen lets out a satisfied whoosh of air when he comes up to the surface, head shaking the water from his face and hair, the drops catching the sun like prisms.
Jared wades over, the smile never once leaving his face as he slips his arms around Jensen's hips and brings him in close, only a thin sheet of water between their bodies.
“This has got to be my favorite stop so far.” He confesses, Jensen nodding sagely in agreement.
“And it's all ours for as long as no one comes around the bend.” Jensen finishes, both hands sliding up to Jared's cheeks, cradling his face before he presses a solid kiss to his lover's already-pink lips.
“Remind me to take some shots before we leave. I want to remember this place with jealousy over the winter.” Jensen remarks, his words making Jared laugh as he remembers just how brutal their first winter in Canada had been.
“Will do, captain.” He whispers, pressing a flurry of sweet kisses to Jensen's lips, cheeks and forehead before grabbing his boyfriend's thighs and pulling up so that Jensen has no choice but to wrap his legs around Jared's waist.
Jensen's used to the position, and were he ever drunk enough, Jared might be able to get him to admit that it's his favorite because for once, he gets to be taller than his other half.
They make out lazily, tongues sweeping in arches, lips pressing gently against necks and cheeks, clavicles and napes until Jensen feels like he might pass out. With a soft sigh that's nothing but bliss, he gives Jared a tight squeeze and lets his body relax in the strong arms he's being held in.
“Never thought I'd be this happy. Not since I figured out I was...”
“In love with my cock?” Jared has that Dennis the Menace grin on his face and without missing a beat Jensen reaches one hand around and spanks him hard, the wet thwack making Jared jump and lose hold on Jensen.
His boyfriend's cracking up when he comes back up, sputtering a little.
“Karma's a bitch, my friend.” Jared chokes out before protecting himself from the wave of splashes Jensen throws his way. It takes only seconds for them to be in all out water war, each trying to dunk the other, or create as big a current as they can to soak the other.
When water's not enough, Jensen leaps back towards Jared, arms going around his neck before he's swinging himself around so he's on the taller man's back.
“You suck!” Jared calls out, hands reaching back to try and tickle Jensen free. He fails miserably when every whisper of fingertips has Jensen pitching the opposite direction, avoiding all of Jared's attempts deftly.
“Freakin' howler monkey!” Jensen just tips his head back, laughing from the very center of his soul.
“You're just jealous 'cause you're too big to play.”
“Funny, 'cause I recall playing allllll night last night and not once getting told I was too big.” Jared knows he's got him when Jensen sags at little and makes a noise akin to that of someone having a giant chocolate cake set in front of them.
“Uh huh. That's what I thought.” He grins, extricating Jensen from his neck and bringing him around again, knowing full well his words just set off an arousal that can only be put out one way.
Their kisses are augmented by touch this time around, both standing practically stock-still in the middle of the swimming hole as they work one another to the edge and over in a heap of panting breaths and nearly-whispered moans.
They rest their foreheads together as their bodies slowly regain the normal beat of life, hands entwined tightly as they breathe each other in, eyes as wide as when they first set eyes on the little piece of heaven in the middle-of-nowhere Oregon.
“How is it that I love you so fucking much?” Jared asks, his voice nearly inaudible; Jensen catches every syllable.
“I don't know the mechanics, but I know that I don't want to be without this feeling. This insane, 'I'd die for you' feeling, ever again. You're the only person who's ever made me feel this way and so help me god, if it ever ends...” Jared's already shaking his head, refusing to hear another word.
“It won't. It won't ever end. Not unless we both want it to, and I'm pretty sure that's not going to happen any time soon.”
“No.” Jensen agrees, unable to stop himself from kissing Jared deeply again, the rushed intake of breath as he leans in for it describing the intensity of his feelings perfectly.
With words being useless to describe the swollen states of their hearts, they resort to imitating the sea otters at the Vancouver Aquarium, laying over the water on their backs with only their joined hands touching. Each gets lost in his own thoughts, both Jared and Jensen looking as placid as the water they're surrounded by, not even their breathing being heard over the sounds of the woods around them.
Occasionally, they'll glance at the other in sync, both of them smiling as thought it's way too perfect, before looking away, their smiles growing a bit more each time. When the water turns them towards the docks, Jensen uses one foot to push them away again, taking advantage of the movement to bring Jared's hand in for a kiss; it makes his boyfriend blush and grin like a girl invited to her first dance and that priceless face in turn has Jensen grinning ear to ear, too filled up with hope and love and happiness to even squeak out a word.
They swim, play, wrestle and float for another hour or so, until the light starts to wane through the trees a little and their adult brains kick back in. Jared snaps off pictures, capturing the greens, blues and golds of the scene from nearly every angle, not wanting to miss an inch of a place so filled with magic-and now love-that he's loathe to leave it.
Reluctantly, they pull on their clothes, forgoing their shirts for the time being, wanting to keep the dribbles of water on their skin for as long as possible. With a last look back, Jensen starts the car and they head back up to the road, both of them leaving a little piece of their hearts behind; the small divot left already patched up by a strengthened love neither could have predicted would show itself on a summer vacation to rival that of the best spring break tales.
