He's not sure what he's expecting, but Olivia is definitely not it.
She's in her late 30's with flaming red dreadlocks, pale, freckled skin and stunning blue eyes. The first word that pops into his head at the sight of her is 'fairy'; The second is 'hippy'. Jensen's not sure how he feels about either definition.

Despite all their research and her being highly recommended, Jensen's still expecting herbs, Patchouli, and Weed. Not to mention chanting, tree hugging, and yoga. None of which he's really in the mood for given Jared's mood swings, long nights staying up with him, and the general anxiety that has settled into his veins ever since Jared told him, 'I'm pregnant. Again.'

Instead, she comes in with a bright smile, a blue plaid shirt and a suitcase full of equipment. It's all very contrary to what he's been psyching himself up for and Jensen's left feeling just a touch confused.

“How are we doing this morning?” She asks after taking off her shoes, and beginning to take out the stuff she's going to need for Jared's first pre-natal exam. Jensen's mouth opens and closes a few times, but his mind's still trying to catch up and nothing comes out.

It's only been eight weeks; They had a hunch after the Kum Den Incident-as it was now infamously referred to by Chris and Jared-and it was confirmed the next day on a little stick with the words making even an idiot able to tell the difference. They were six weeks along by then, and even now, Jensen still feels like he's in the path of a tornado about to rip apart his whole life...again.

Jared pads down the stairs before he can formulate any sort of reply to Olivia's question, his husband still half-asleep, exhausted from having been up most of the night puking his brains out. Jensen gives him a sympathetic smile and easily opens his arms to take him in for a soft kiss. If Jared gets any more adorable, Jensen's pretty sure he'll be making high-pitched, girly noises.

Olivia seems to agree with him, if her face is anything to go by. It's all big eyes and pouty lips and Jensen remembers the word one of their fans used to describe that expression when it was plastered all over Jared's face during one of the conventions. Olivia is officially wibbling at them.

“How long have you two been together?”

“Four years.” They answer in unison, sharing a loving smile and another kiss. Olivia visibly melts a little more.

She finishes setting up, then sits them on the couch to get a little background detail from them. They tell her about the stillbirth and she gets angry. They tell her about the miscarriage and she gets teary-eyed. Olivia ends the interview by giving them both a big hug and assuring them that this time will be different because they are in full control. Jensen feels more relaxed by her presence than he has at any of Jared's doctors' appointments.

Olivia takes Jared's weight, has Jensen measure his height and takes the circumference of his still-flat abs just as a starting point. They talk about diet and exercise and Jared almost kisses her when she tells him that he can still do light weightlifting after his first trimester is over. Jensen just rolls his eyes, thoroughly amused, because of all the things to worry about, Jared's picking his fitness regime.

“So what are your expectations of me. I want to hear any questions, concerns, S.O.S's. Want you both to feel like you're old-hat at this when the time comes.” Olivia states as she gets out what looks like a child's microphone, checking the batteries by switching it on and off quickly.

Jensen looks down at Jared, not surprised to find his husband half-asleep tucked up against his chest, Jared laying on his side, completely snuggled in. Smiling up at Olivia, he chuckles softly, rubbing Jared's arm until he comes to.

“I'm awake.” He says with a lazy grin, eyes focusing on Olivia. “I want a healthy baby. Want my husband to be able to handle the full delivery by himself. Want you as a back-up and the hospital as a last resort.”

Jensen's eyebrows shoot up at how plainly and eloquently Jared states his wishes. Olivia looks pleased and not at all phased by his husband's requests. It's as though they're on the same wavelength and Jensen's watching some sort of psychic showdown. It makes his head hurt just a little. His thoughts are interrupted by Jared's soft whisper as Olivia turns to grab a stethoscope and blood pressure cuff.

“I like her.” Jared whispers, cementing Jensen's decision that they made the right choice.

Olivia returns when Jared is 16 weeks along, having scoffed at Jared's previous care provider and his demand that Jared have an ultrasound at four weeks when they relayed the information to her at the first meeting.

“You're perfectly healthy. He's an idiot and just trying to make you panic. Neither losses had anything to do with your health, Jared. I need you to feel confident in that. You've seen your own medical reports.”

Jared remembers the words as he opens the door for her, smiling softly and bending as best he can with a growing belly to give her a hug.

“How are you doing, Jay?” She asks, rolling in the suitcase with a familiarity that has grown over the past few weeks and her near-daily visits, none of which were included in her fee, but none of which she was charging for either.

As she'd explained to them, she wanted to be there every step of the way for them, because if any couple deserved to have the support of someone who did nothing but aid in deliveries, it was them. Their story had touched her heart, and she was sticking by them so long as they let her.

“Not bad. Nausea's easing up, but my pants aren't.” He grins, moving towards the couch where she does most of his check-ups.

“Where's Jensen?” Olivia asks, setting up the usual set of innocuous medical equipment and setting to work on checking his blood pressure, heartbeat and breathing.

“Sleeping still. He had a rough day on set yesterday. Lot of stunts.” He explains, laying down once she's done to let her feel the baby.

Olivia laughs softly as she glances up and sees Jensen coming down the stairs, hair sticking up in every different direction, shirt and skin both wrinkled from the sheets.
“Morning.” He mumbles, heading for Jared and a good morning kiss and then detouring straight to the kitchen for coffee. It's ten minutes before he's back, looking a little more awake, and Jared can tell he's already gulped down a good half a mug of the dark brew.

“So...this week's a little different. You're in your second trimester and I have a surprise for both of you...” Olivia can rival Denis the Menace when she wants to, and now is definitely one of those times. It makes both of them sit up and take notice as she pulls out something that looks all too similar to the Doppler they've been using to listen to the heartbeat.

Olivia pulls out a laptop and only then does Jensen feel the need to sit on the arm of the couch to be closer, to see what she's planning on doing to Jared and their baby. She plugs the machine into one of the USB ports and clicks it on. Jensen's face softens into joy as he realizes that Olivia has a portable ultrasound.

“Play and burn all at once. And unlike some assholes back at the hospital, I don't charge for copies.” She grins, testing the machine quickly on herself before setting it aside to get out the gel.

Jared looks up at Jensen with a mixture of hope, uncertainty and the desperate desire to see their child, see it moving and alive and well. Jensen feels his throat close up, his free hand scrambling to take hold of Jared's.

“It's lukewarm. I had it warming up in some water before I came down.” She explains, squeezing a good amount onto Jared's slightly distended stomach. He flinches anyways and Jensen can't help but chuckle softly.

“Love you.” He whispers, the words as much an assurance as a show of affection for his husband. Jared smiles up at him and Jensen knows he's too emotional to speak. He leans down and accepts the kiss that's offered to him as Olivia places the wand against Jared's abs.

Almost immediately she starts laughing.

Jensen pulls away from the kiss to look at the laptop, trying to figure out what's got her so amused. He can make out the clear shape of one baby, but not much else until suddenly, he's seeing three little hands.

“Is that...” He asks, eyes already beginning to fill with tears of happiness, Jared craning his head to try and see over Olivia's lap from his sunken position on the couch.

“I hope you guys are planning a HUGE baby shower, because...” She moves the wand around to get a better angle, one that even Jared can't miss.

“You're having twins! Congratulations!” No one is surprised at the two soft sobs that escape both Jared and Jensen and the flurry of hugs, kisses and soft, 'I love you's they exchange in the wake of the news.

“We're having twins, baby!” Jared cries, face pressed into Jensen's forearm, his husband's own tears slipping into his long hair.

“We're having twins.” Jensen echoes, his own voice pinched but so full of joy that even Olivia can't stop her tears.
They spend what feels like hours watching their babies, eyes blurry and mouths hurting from smiling so big. The appointment takes so long that they end up inviting Olivia to stay for lunch and by the time it's just the two of them again, the sun's beginning to set.

Jensen settles back onto the couch, arm outstretched to press play on the remote. Jared's in his usual place, laying comfortably back against his husband, his hands resting over Jensen's, face snuggled into his chest.

“I still can't believe we're having twins...” He murmurs softly, his smile growing as the black and white image fills their flat screen, the moment they found out ingrained permanently onto DVD.

Jensen merely nods, still shocked by the news, still awed by the image of his children on the small laptop screen, and even more so now that they're on the big screen. He lets out a soft, puffed out sound of surprise as the third hand pops up on the screen, and Jared feels his hand being squeezed.

“That's our family.” Jensen whispers, his face burying in Jared's shoulder as he cries in pure joy and relief. “That's our family. We did it, Jay. That's our family.”
