A reasonable expectation

Putting an average of 33 points per game on the board should be enough to win. What the Hail has happened to our defense?!?!

I'm too sad to put together a thoughtful response. :(

This is what happens when I let my hopes get too high. Funny part is, Mr. Griffin is doing a fantastic job and my hopes for THAT are fulfilled. But "what the hail" is right...

We have the most productive offense in the league (in terms of points scored). As such, Griffin is doing a fantastic job and has turned the offense into a powerhouse.

On the other hand, we have the 4th worst defense in the league (again, in terms of points scored); we are outpaced only by the Bengals (2-1), the Titans (1-2) and the Saints (0-3), two of which are teams that we have played.

For the past several years, the narrative has been "the Redskins' offense stinks, and they don't win games, but they've got a good defense." How have we moved so far to the other end of the scale?
