The first half was insane!! Those mistakes destroyed our defense and that was too hard to come back from...but we did and still put points in the board. We showed up after halftime and we same some good plays. We didn't get shut out so I'm hoping he's shed the rust and we'll be good next game
RG3's preseason was in the first half. He easily outplayed Philly in the 2nd half.
I kept thinking the same thing about how a preseason would have helped him, but still, it really is just one game, and I remember how critical I was of Shanny for keeping RG3 on the field against the Seahawks, so I can't really go back now and say he should have been on the field too quickly now. Though yeah, shoot, you'd think he could have at least done a few handoffs...
I remember the Saints game last year seemed to show really smart college-type playcalling of screens that then opened up the middle of the field with creative run schemes. There was nothing creative about the 1st half playcalling. It was the kind of stuff called near the end of the season and really wasn't appropriate.
IIRC, Morris didn't have any preseason games, either, so ... there's some slack there, too. :)
I both love RGIII for wanting to get out there and play and worry that he's making a bad decision. While the fans wanted to see him and would have been disappointed, we at least wouldn't have all been gasping and worrying every time he took a hit if he'd taken a little longer to come back. Alas.
I felt like the second half basically showed that the team could do it. It may be that RGIII needs to learn to get more comfortable in a bit more restricted style of play. Going from being the kind of guy who can get yourself out of trouble to having to trust your line even more seems like a daunting prospect, at least to this control freak! :)

Didn't he? I thought he played at least some. Alright, Alfred, you're at off the naughtiest part of the naughty list... for now. ;-)
I agree, it was a no-win situation for Griffin in the preseason. This rabid fanbase wouldn't have been any happier if he'd played, especially on the off chance that something would have happened to him. And he'll get more confident playing in whatever scheme he, Kyle and LaFleur settle on. It was just gutwrenching to watch that first half. :-)
