Um, films are good on TV? I can't really maintain the concentration for long TV series things with story arcs and such. The internet has destroyed my attention span. Sunil has reviews of what seem to be a fair proportion of the TV you might want to watch on his LJ.

Oh, hey, you're that girl I met that one time. Hee. I love that I am being called out for suggestions! So, what to watch:

Chuck: Comedy about a dude who gets all of our government's intelligence and counterintelligence beamed into his brain. He "flashes" on key objects and can identify bad guys and what they're up to. He works with a hardass NSA agent (Adam Baldwin!) and a hot CIA agent, whose cover is Chuck's girlfriend. But of course they actually like each other FOR REALS and it's complicated. And Chuck works at a parody of Best Buy populated by hilarious side characters of color.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles: Awesome show unlike anything else on television. The premise is on the box. Features Summer Glau as a Terminator sent back to protect John. Very character-focused, exposition-light, thoughtful. Scored by Bear McCreary. Also stars Shirley Manson. Yes, that one.

30 Rock: Still hilarious!

How I Met Your Mother: Non-linear sitcom with a likable cast!

30 Rock: Not what it was (in fact, you might want to watch an earlier season on DVD to see what all the fuss is about--and to get the occasional glimpse of the actual show that these characters allegedly work on!) but generally funnier than normal TV.

Fringe: Kind of an X-Files vibe, with a set of weird main characters that I quite like. You can enjoy the MOTW stories without being caught up on the mytharc, and even the mytharc is pretty easy to get the hang of episode-by-episode.

Looking through the other shows that are there...Bones is a quirky little show that I enjoy when I happen to catch it. Last time I watched I noticed that it scored pretty well on the Bechdel-Wallace scale.

Defunct shows: All the episodes of Stella (short-lived weird comedy show by three of the guys from The State) are up on Hulu, and S1 of Da Vinci's Inquest (Canadian police/coroner procedural that I'm quite fond of) still is as well. *checks* Oh, hey, Arrested Development is there too ( ... )

Fringe is great -- but did not get renewed. Shocker. Still, it's fun and worth watching.

Whoa, really? That bites. I thought it had wide enough appeal to hang on. But then, it was probably pretty expensive to shoot.

Arrested Development has been recommended to me by someone I do not really trust to know my taste, so I am pleased to hear you (seemingly) recommending it as well.

Um, it's bizarre to me to be offering TV suggestions to you when you are the reason I got into TV in the first place (Firefly was my entry point), but what the hey.

Flipping through the most popular stuff on Hulu for what I've watched and liked (some of which I figure you already know about):
Dollhouse
Bones (I adore this show, with the exception of one utterly awful plot twist that nobody liked... but it's worth it anyway)
Lie to Me (I've actually only watched one episode, but I was encouraged enough that I plan to watch more)
Damages (which I only got through half a season of before my DVR stopped recording it, so I'm behind... but I liked it!)
Studio 60
The Riches (also behind on this one, but I did enjoy it)

This caused me to see just how much STUFF there is on Hulu... wow. I can watch SO much trashy TV now!

Oh, Damages! That's definitely worth watching. And if you mention it on Twitter, the main characters' Twitter accounts start following you. :)

That's... kind of creepy. How do they have time for Twitter accounts anyway? Aren't they too busy ruining people's lives or something?

I'm a big fan of Lie to Me, actually - it's a fascinating concept, and the main character is one of those "My GOD, what a dick! But he's right!" types.

Hulu has ReGenesis, a Canadian show with a molecular biologist.

Hey, that's on Hulu now? Dang, I might have to start paying attention to that site.
