HOLY SHIT LIVEJOURNAL. I had one of these once. Took me ten minutes to remember how to post a thing, though. I just finished making sure all my old lj RSS-feed comics are represented in my google reader queue and I got all nostalgic and shit ( Read more... )

Are you coming to meat smoke this year?

When is your spring break?

answer to both questions: HDURRRRRRRRRRRRR?

Actually spring break is the week after march 23rd, since that's my last final and I'm hoping to go to meatsmoke but somewhat embarrassed about missing the last one.

Hmmmmm, you're on spring break basically right after I come back to California from the northwest. BOO HISS. Maybe I can still see you the weekend of the 19th? Somehow? WE WILL TALK.

Plus you should definitely come to meatsmoke. I missed last year too and am majorsad about it, but if you and John aren't going to be there I may skip this year again. :/

This is an amazing macro. I will now watch it instead of finishing homework.

Question: How easy do you find learning sign language, compared to whatever languages you've taken in the past?

It's easier for me, but I've always had trouble with spoken language so it might be a personal thing. I would say that it's probably a bit easier overall because there seems to be less vocabulary. It was only really codified as a language in the 1800s, so perhaps it just hasn't had time to develop the bucket o' synonyms that, say, English has. Plus in ASL you can always just fall back to fingerspelling (and a lot of short words don't even have signs because they're relatively easy to fingerspell) so the need for a vocabulary of signs is less urgent.
Anyway, I really, really enjoy it. It helps that I live in a city with a large deaf population - and what is apparently the largest population of gay deaf people. I totally go to (extracirricular) sign language classes at a gay bar, it is awesome.

So I totally still read LJ. Is the live-in guy the one who was in the navy?

I should bother you on AOL again sometime. It's what all the cool kids are using for their intercontinental text-based discussions.

Same dude! His name is John. And I am on ze chats constantly, but do not always reply or leave accurate away messages. See "Worst Internet User Ever." However, you should still definitely try, I am authentically unemployed and have quite a bit of free time.
