I really want Ellen to get into Dan Savage's It Gets Better project.

That Carebear/DW thing made me snort, and the Gourd essay nearly killed me with laughing. XD

I'd actually prefer her to get into the We've Got Your Back Project or the Trevor Project.

Dan Savage is a little too divisive in the LGBTQ community to be totally helpful.

Uh, yeah. He compares abuse of alcohol and illegal drugs as being the same as going into and staying in an abusive relationship.

I agree that was a little wtf, but he does attempt to explain himself. Not having the experience in question, I won't even try to say how well or poorly he does that.

I ask this in sincerity: Is there not a psychological groundwork that must be laid for patterns of abusive relationships? I don't mean to imply agreement with his sentiment, nor that they are analogous, just that there is a pattern of behavior to both situations.
