-Work lulz. Can't talk about it, but it's pretty lulzy.

-Morbo has lost a few pounds. This is good in the short run, as he was just on the edge of heavy for his size, but now he's getting actually skinny, and I'm getting worried. He's losing weight because Jack is eating all his food. Short of locking him or her in an enclosed space, we can't keep ( Read more... )

I have some friends who have problems with their cats eating the dog food, other cats' food, etc. I'll see if I can get any tips from them on dealing with this...I know they separate the dogs when they feed them, but that doesn't solve the problem of Morbo liking to wander away from his food and come back...

Also, I would give my left tit for that bike. GUUUUUUH. *drool*

AW YEAH re: bike. (Agreed with one of the commenters, the saddle could do with a tad more upholstery, but in the main, that looks like what HG Wells' Time Machine should've looked like.)

Yoink re: Morbo. Usually my two can share and share alike without too many ructions (though we did have some initial difficulties). Maybe you need two dishes so there's one immediately convenient to Jack, but another that Morbo can peck at that isn't so easy to get to?

There already are two dishes. :-/

The way we've been doing it now is we "hide" Morbo's dish behind a half-wall, and block off the space with a really big box. (We got a vacuum recently, and the cats love the box so much, we haven't the heart to throw it out yet.)

While Morbo's eating there, we'll give Jack her dish of food in the cupboard. (It's a largeish cupboard, so it's not quite as barbaric as it sounds.)

Morbo will wander from his food halfway through the dish, and we'll let Jack out, and she'll go right for his food. I was chasing her all through the apartment this morning trying to shut her in someplace so Morbo could eat peacefully. I eventually gave up because I had to finish getting ready for work.

Poor Morbo. He's so hungry. We think. :(

We had the same problem with Ollie and Ginger - Ginger would eat all his food because he was more of a throughout-the-day nibbler and she was more of an OMG GIVE ME ALL FOOD NOW eater. Our solution at one point was to mix a bit of chicken or chicken stock into his food so he'd eat at least most of it immediately, as one of us stood and watched so as to keep Ginger away ( ... )

We can do the stand-and-watch thing at night, but I don't think we have the time to do it in the morning. :( I certainly didn't today.

Thanks for the info, though. We'll probably try it this weekend when we do have the time.

I was informed I'm rare in that I would never consider having sex without a prophylactic involved. I know my experience doesn't speak for anyone but me, but...seriously? Obviously there is a problem, given the spread of STDs and HIV, but I'm still pretty shocked.I've been a sex educator for almost 4 years, 2 of them focused on a college campus. The problem we struggle with is that nearly everyone knows you *should* use a condom, but a lot of people still don't. The barriers to use (for people of all ages) include ( ... )
