I'm sortof "glad" he's being a monster in this way, though. He's not being fat-, trans-, or bi-phobic, he's just being a terrible human.

And for all the people who were able to handwave the intersectionality concerns during the discussions over It Gets Better, I hope, I hope, I hope, they understand why so many people said, "This guy isn't who we want doing this."

But hey. A girl can dream.

...and neither joke was improved by having those elements. It just made them into "Hurr fat!" and "Hurr trans!" jokes, and they didn't need that. Did anyone else notice?

Ugh, I noticed. I've been noticing this sort of stuff on Big Bang Theory more often lately, too. Even the episode last season where one of the characters spent the evening making out with a curvy woman was obviously played for disgusted/uncomfortable laughs. I've come to the conclusion that it's basically impossible to enjoy sitcoms anymore once you no longer think being female or not conforming to gender norms is inherently hilarious.

This is one of the big reasons I don't have a TV anymore. So much of what's on right now is basically about how much better the world would be if people like me didn't exist.
