To get upset over someone else's opinion is a definite sign of immaturity and shows a lack of general life experience. Words to the wise: If you hear or read something with which you disagree and you proceed to take it personally or get bent out of shape, YOU LOSE!

Personally, I have far more respect for someone that takes a strong position that is opposite to my own than for one that takes the middle ground and is too craven to make any absolute judgments or to declare any strong opinions.

Bottom line, Brett: if somebody is offended by your opinion, that is HIS problem.

I was referring to your aunt and cousin's behavior on this journal, and how they took a simple ideological disagreement and made it into a personal and family problem. I'm not saying that you were the one getting upset; it appears that you weren't. I'm saying that it's childish and wrong for people who disagree with you to get angry just because they might not like your opinion.

Heck, I disagree with what you said, too! But I'm not going to get mad about it. I don't get upset because you prefer to wear pink dresses or that you enjoy drinking your own urine. Likewise, you don't get upset because of my preference for fine food, drink, and beautiful, admiring women, who flock to me in throngs due to my far superior, mannish charm and my perfectly groomed nostril hair.
