Firstly OMG It finally happened!!! Michael got a podium!!!! Wasn't expecting anything much from Valencia as it's always been such a dull race and especially after Michael's qualifying. Race day. For the past 2 years I've spent race day morning in one place. Next to the paddock just down from Stars n bars waiting for the drivers going to and from the pits. Saturday and now the serious business starts. For starters I got to use my Stars n bars pass. I must say it is nice strolling down, flashing your pass at security and being let through whilst everyone else looks on. Honestly it's only €20 I don't know why everyone doesn't do it. Friday. ahh a day off. Well not really. Had a bit of a lie in. Washed my hair etc and headed down the station for about 10.30. There was a train already on the platform but it was a small train and it was rammed. Waking up on Thursday I remembered something. Going to a Grand Prix is knackering! My legs hurt, my feet hurt and I had a banging head ache and I hadn't even heard an F1 car yet - this was more to do with the beerage of the previous day. Blimey. I can't believe it's all over. Had the BIGGEST bout of post Grand Prix depression ever after the race...and I mean immediately after the race. I guess it was because Michael had retired AGAIN through no fault of his own and especially after Saturday which was just unbelievable. Monaco countdown
4 days and counting...... can't tell you how excited I am although I keep saying 'all being well'. Don't want to tempt fate, especially after the last 2 years with the volcanic ash. Sorting all the electrical stuff today. Charging cameras and clearing memory cards. I bought a travel kettle last week so I can have a coffee in the morning in my hotel ( Read more... )
