Think I may need to apologize if it was you on the corner of 4th and King yesterday morning.

I was on my way to work to reset a server and empty the reservoir on the spot cooler about 10:15-10:20 am.

I thought I saw you, or your twin, but didn't realize it was you or, again your twin) waiting for the light it didn't dawn on me that it could have been you till I was already at my building on 2nd and Brannan.

If it was you sorry I didn't stop after the light and offer you a ride to where ever you were headed.

Actually, it's quite possible that was me. :) And, no apologies needed. My work is a bitch and a half to drive to from there. Far easier to take muni.

Kitten food will help put on weight. The shaky tail may have more to do with anal glands... eeww I know. Maybe adding some wet food or water might help her fix that for herself.

As for spaying.. there are feral free spays that will take her then release her back.... I've heard the stories but not the names of the organization. Worth call a local rescue for info though.

Call the local city SPCA and see what they do.
The neighbor across the street on Lake was able to take them in for free and have the city spay them. You could tell them that you are unable to keep the kitten and they might keep her and put her up for adoption.

*If* she is in heat, she's most likely already impregnated. Like, yeah. That means that you get the awesome choice ot taking her in to be spayed, like, pronto - wherein the spaying will abort the babies, or let her have the kittens at serious detriment to herself and the feral cat population of your neighborhood.

Most places that spay and neuter will hold the kitty until she's well enough to be released. You could also buils some sort of house/box for her to rest in where she feels safe(r) outside.

You can call the Homeless Cat Network or Pets In Need, see if they can help you or refer you to a local organization. That'd be what I'd do. Find out what Santa Clara County's feral control measures are.

Also, I agree with the kitten food. High fat, high protein. That'll get her going. :)

Being a stray, it is also likely that she is skinny cuz she has worms. The best thing, if you can't keep her, is to just turn her in to SPCA or humane society.
