Iiiinteresting. I'd've laughed if that was the law here when I was doing my Land Conservation certificate- everybody but me smoked, and smoked a lot, like, ten smoke breaks a day, so if they'd been told they couldn't...I'd've expected spontaenous combustion.
I guess people feel that if others want to smoke that bad, they should do it at home or something. IDK. It doesn't bother me, but that's 'coz my grandparents smoke (well, Ma still does and Pa only quite a few months before his death) and so I kind of have positive associations with cigarettes, it makes me think of them, lol. But other people might be more sensitived about it or something. I get it being banned in restaurants- who wants their meal spoiled 'coz zomeone's lit up nearby?- but on the street is a bit...huh.
Why don't you smoke indoors, btw? I thought that was a common thing, but maybe it's just my family. O.o
I don't smoke indoors because I don't like to sit in the smoke. That shit gets into everything, and I hate the smell of it...as weird and vaguely hypocritical as that sounds. And my parents would freaking murder me, since I live under their roof. But I wouldn't smoke in my house even if I had my own apartment.
LOL, you hypocrite! :P I think it's funny that a smoker doesn't like the smell of smoke, hee. I get what you mean, though, it's so annoying when it gets into your clothes. My father goes on and on about it everytime I get back from visiting my grandmother, 'Oh, smells like you've been to a smoke factory' blah blah blah, stupid condescending crap. *kicks him* He like rants at me about her smoking, what'm I supposed to do about it?!
Yeah, prob best not to antagonize the parents if they ain't smokers. *g* It'd suck smoking outside in winter, though. *shivers*
