Well I got the Trojan from Hell(tm) a couple days ago. After trying to manually remove it and watching it repeatedly reinstall itself after I deleted every trace of it, I got pissed, wiped my hard drive, and reinstalled Windows. So my computer works again. Yay

your poor compy. I had a virus like that a while back, I don't remember where I picked it up, but I now have double the spyware and anti-virus programs to make sure it doesn't happen again. It was a bit of a hassle.

Yeah... Sometimes it doesn't matter how much protection you have, something will slip by. I have nuclear firewalls and antivirus/antispyware like whoah, but I still got a virus. There's always new ones out there.
