Saw The Doctor Yesterday

Finally got Carvis to go get the blood work done last week. For someone complaining so much, he had less vials taken from him than I did or Mouse. He had 3 taken, I had 4, and she had 5. Poor Mousie, the person accidently pinched her arm and got the blood vessel and nerve together. Mouse was in pain for quite a while. She has never had a good ( Read more... )

OWOWOWOWOW that's happened to me too.

They should hire junkies to take blood samples. Junkies can find any vein big enough to get a needle into, first try.

That's usually on themselves though. How good at they at finding a vein on someone else?

I've had some painful episodes but I've also managed to get several people who are quick, efficient, and so smooth that I had to look to confirm the needle was in me. I've had blood drawn so many times that my upper arm feels like it's permanently bruised.

Mouse has had her blood taken 3 times since becoming an adult and all 3 have been painful. She had blood taken when she was a baby and didn't even cry but she obviously does not remember that time.

I went to see my doctor a month ago since I has started feeling generally 'blah'. I didn't feel like eating and was always tired. He noted my continued hypertension and took four vials of red stuff and said he'd call me the next day. He also prescribed Lisinopril for the blood pressure.

The blood work came back fine with good cholesterol and sugar levels.

A week later I went into renal shutdown as a side effect of the Lisinopril. :O

Now that I'm back to normal, the doc started me on Losartan. (isn't he an intergalactic super-villain? O_o) No side effects as yet.

So, yeah, getting older sucks.

You're always in my thoughts, Vix.

Glad you are doing better and you just scared me with that news. So glad you were able to get help. Fingers crossed for no more side effects.
