Daily blog attempt 2

So here it is, the next day, give or take a few hours, heh. Not many responses to my last post, only two from LJ and MySpace combined. Still, it is the weekend, and people aren't sitting at work looking at blogs when they should be working, hehe. I do hope I get more feedback, though.

There are a bunch of writing challenge comms around, maybe something like that could help you? I don't think the DSG has seen any action in ages, but I'm all for resurrecting it if necessary... (I *think* Sugar still has the random topic code but I am not sure)

About fears... I am scared of the uncanny valley. The Stepford Wives gave me nightmares :) We have Resusci-dolls at the office. Erk.
I also don't seem to be able to touch big insects which is weird because I'm not consciously afraid of them and don't mind looking at them at all. But trying to touch them gives me something like a small electric shock - I just can't.

Ah, I can easily see the uncanny valley fear. It's one of the reasons such a term exists in the first place. The insect one as well. I suppose I've a bit of that, too. Even spiders and insects that don't actually bother me I don't want touching me. Large or no. In 7th grade my teacher liked keeping random desert wildlife for a bit before letting it go back into the wild. We have lizards and snakes and tarantulas. Guess which ones I wouldn't let touch me. :F And Tarantulas are furry spiders and therefor don't have the same creepy level to me that shiny spiders do.
I'm sure there are communities for keeping one with stuff to write about, but I'm not really opposed to the idea of dsg, especially since I could actually sketch/draw, too. I got a Wacom finally and so far haven't used it for much, which makes me sad and feel bad, heh.
