Peach - weaves update

No matter how many times I teach them, I still find so much joy in watching the first time a dog weaves 12 poles. What a fun training process. Much of Peach's adolescence has been very unstructured, in that we trained whatever was in front of us and really just had fun together. Weaves were our first outright goal ... from start to finish. Wow! Nice!!!

YOu're ahead of us... we are at two sets of poles in a straight line, but not quite pushed together all the way.

I think Bender will be weaving six poles by the end of the weekend!

It won't take Bender long! Watching all of these videos really taught me a lot about her learning style .. when she'd fail multiple times in a row, she'd really slow down significantly. While I want her to be able to work through failure, I also want her to continue to have fun and think it's all a game - plus her performance dramatically increases when she's drivey and having fun. May need to be more considerate of breaks when she gets stuck, doing something else, getting drive up with tugging, and trying again. Great puzzles to learn about her :)

She's so great. And I gotta say I love that facility. The light is so nice (no dark dank barn for you sister!)

She really seems to get the idea. Way to go!

She's so awesome! I went back and watched the other videos - thanks for linking them. Glad to see them. I did not do any videoing with Flyte - r i iddn't save it. So, hats off to you :)

She looks great - are you as religious on videoing your contacts? I'd love to see them if so...
