Just got back from FC last night, at which point I collapsed on my bed. It was a hectic weekend despite being a pretty mellow con, but thankfully the goods far outweighed the negatives. To save your reading eyes, my con report has been conveniently cut for your viewing pleasure:
I arrived in San Jose Thursday night with Al Bear with a bag of clothes and two bags of unfinished fursuit. I spent the first hour saying hi to everyone I hadn't seen in months, (my jaw was sore from grinning ;) ) then dropped off my bags with Maxx. We met up with Windmist, Uck, Jo(u)va and Thal(y)i, and spent the next hour and a half getting organized before heading to Crack Chicken. We headed back after a poultry and booze, then chilled in our room, pulled some cones and fell asleep kinda early. Maxx and I however did perfect the art of "kicking it", which was nice.
Before coming to the con, I didn't have time to finish Nozzle's feet. But for some reason Friday morning I decided that I wanted to make feet ASAP. So with the help of Oz Kangaroo I slapped together feet in about a day, shunning sociality to get it done. I ended up going out Saturday in Nozzle, somewhat satisfied with the way he turned out, but kinda bummed with the janky feet and terrible vision. In my opinion, he's not bad for a first suit, but not being much of a performer I didn't really have the drive to bring him out, which kinda bummed me. Either way, for those who missed him in all his bear bear glory, here he is:
I had such a great time socializing with friends and such, but at the same time, there was almost *too much*. Most of the time I like to focus my energies in one place, but there were so many people, and so many things to do that my attention got overly divided. I was fortunate enough to be able to go to shindigs hosted by Diz/Tora and Windmist, but I would leave their room and get caught up somewhere else for another few hours. All in all I had a blast, but I can't help feeling regretful that I somehow ditched my friends, or missed others all together. In such a large con with so many cool people and so little time, I guess it's unavoidable though...
Anyways, as a wrap up, I thought it was a very well put together con. In retrospect, I wish I had smoked less (both wacky and regular tobacco), drank more, and gotten out to do events more than I did. It does give me something to work for next year, when I won't have to worry about school, finishing my fursuit, or coordinating with Mike so much. I hope all y'all had a good time, and it was great seeing all you non-SoCalifornians ;)
