I totally agree with you about the "megafandoms" thing... and I hate how these huge fandoms sometimes destroy the fun of the tv-show for people who just wanna enjoy and DO NOT like to get into shipping wars whatsoever... I've seen it happen in several "once Upon a Time" Convention groups, how people started fighting and the likes just because they don't like the same pairings whatsoever or get attacked for not liking the same characters/actors... it#s so stupid...

Right now, the most I am IN fandom is when I'm on that app called TVTIME... I really can interact with people who like the same shows I do and comment and get comments back and such, almost like it was here on LJ before everyone left, so yeah...

I think you've written down some very valid points here =D

Voltron and Teen Wolf fandom shipping wars and anti toxicity made me leave the fandoms bc I just do not have the energy for that shit... I've been trying to go harder on my small fandoms bc they're just so much nicer to be in lol

That sounds really nice! I'm glad it's been a good space for you.

it's so big and diverse, and it's only getting bigger. That makes it difficult to make broad proclomations about the future. Especially when issues with the internet and government regulations are so up in the air as well...

This is very true.

I just saw the announcement that NBC was going to start their own streaming service and I wanted to bang my head against a wall. Whyyyy? I agree with you about sustainability. People can't afford All The Streaming Services.

Yeah, I'm not thrilled by NBC's announcement. I'm already sharing or mooching off of other ppl's accounts for several services bc I just can't justify paying for all of them. It's gotten really ridiculous.
